Extreme Sports

Hi Mom-Mom,
I like to dabble in extreme sports; brick hearth climbing, dishwasher door surfing, high flying acrobatics in my swing… I love living on the edge! Mama thinks my sense of adventure was first ignited during a trip out on the boat while we were on vacation in Granville. Dad let me go TUBING!  I loved being on the boat and racing across the water with the wind in my hair.

The Chicken Chase

Hi Mom-Mom,
Hurricane Irene blew through last night and ruffled some feathers. Jessy wanted to be sure her chicken Morgan was ok and in doing so, I witnessed a nail biting chicken chase.

It was clear Morgan knew a thing or two about being chased. She ran faster than the speed of light, dodging her hen-mates and changing direction in a flash, attempting to throw Jessy off. The ladies squawked and feathers flew! I watched with bated breath as they zipped through the hen yard. Jessy was not to be underestimated. She swooped in for the catch and in an instant the chase was over.

My cousin Jessy is pretty cool. I hope she teaches me about chasing chickens when I’m older.

Foyer Fun

Mom-Mom,
There’s lots of fun to be had in the foyer of our house. Mama says it’s a dangerous, treacherous space, but it’s my most favorite place to explore lately. My dad keeps a big bowl of water there for me to splash and play in. It’s too big to pick up so if I’m thirsty, I stick my whole face in the water.

There are these springy toys that are stuck to the wall. They have little white caps on them and if I focus hard I’m able to pop them off. They’re fun to chew on.

And today, I discovered THE STAIRS! They’re slippery and tricky to maneuver but I’m up for the climb!

My Baptism

Mom-Mom, I was baptized at noon on August 20th by Father Carr at the Church of the Nativity in Lutherville.

We got all dressed up and headed to the Chapel. I wore a special outfit because it was a special day.

I puked all over myself two minutes into the ceremony. Fortunately Uncle Brian captured this classic moment on film for everyone to enjoy!

Father Carr seemed nice enough but he poured water on my head and it got in my eyes. I handled it really well considering.

Uncle Rory and Aunt Jo are my Godparents.

Ocean City 2011

Hi Mom-Mom,
We went on another vacation to a place called Ocean City. It must be a more popular vacation destination than Granville because a lot of other people were there too.

In Ocean City they name their streets mostly after numbers. They like to walk on the boards near the bright lights and loud sounds. The fishermen sell popcorn and everyone eats delicious fractured prunes for breakfast.

I was provided with constant entertainment in the form of Gracie, Megan and Charlotte! We spent a lot of our time on the beach. I sampled a real SANDwich and tried to eat a little sand crab but he was super-fast and got away. The saltwater did strange things to my hair.

I had a great time at the beach. The highlight of my time in Ocean City was seeing you almost every morning!

Hi Mom-Mom,

I got mail from Megan today! She wrote a letter all about me and how I can crawl and sit up roll and eat corn on the cob! She thinks I’m cute! I loved getting her letter. The envelope tasted great.

Love,
Garrett
