Hi Mom-Mom,
The highlight of this month was starting preschool! I was so excited when Mom dropped me off on my first day. We went to a cook out at Mason's house and I took Anna for a ride on his cool bike. We enjoyed spending time with our Deane family who were in town to remember my Great Grandmother, Betty. Some other highlights for September include a trip to Rodgers farm with Megan and Aunt Lisa, a cook out and s'mores with Landon, and celebrating Kyle's tenth birthday. We made sure Penny the Pig got a piece of cake! I also slept super late one morning, waking up at 8:30 am! It hasn't happened again since.

Hi Mom-Mom,
Today we remembered my Great Grandmother, Betty Deane. She was born on June 18, 1925 to John and Camilla Jett. From the age of two Great Grandmom was raised by her mom’s sister and her husband, Anne and Alan Gordon.

She grew up in Bolton Hill and was a graduate of Western High School. After going to nursing school at the Women's Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore she worked at City Hospital Pediatrics where she met Great Grand Pop. They got married in 1947 and had five children; Aunt Nancy, Aunt Barbara, Grand Pop, Uncle John and Aunt Anne.

Grand Pop has told me stories about Great Grandmom. She was an intelligent, adaptive, strong woman. She loved to be with different types of people and really enjoyed music, art and horses. She was animated and enthusiastic in expression and was known for her very contagious laugh.

Before I was born she moved to Nashville, TN to live with Uncle John and Aunt Natasha. I met her once on a visit to Granville. We had fun laughing together. She died on June 1, 2013. My cousins and I helped shovel the dirt today as she was laid to rest at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Timonium, MD.

Hi Mom-Mom,
I started preschool at St. Paul's Lutheran Preschool! My teachers are Ms. Gina and Ms. Megan. There are two girls and four other boys in my class. Mom and I walked to school on my first day. I could hardly contain my excitement. I collected leaves along the way and gave her a leaf bouquet. I walked in to my classroom with a big smile on my face and didn't look back. It was a great first day.
